Sama is currently the News Roundup Editor (2025) for the Armed Groups and International Law blog. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations from the University of Geneva (UNIGE), where she majored in Swiss Law and International Law. Her bachelor’s thesis, “The Legal Analysis of the United Nations Security Council’s Role in Protecting Civilians in Syria: Legal and IHL Implications”, examined the Council’s practice through the lens of international humanitarian law principles, relevant UN resolutions, and the UN Charter. Sama is also completing a six-month internship with the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) in Amman, within the Office for External Relations and Communications (Donor Relations). Her work supports donor engagement and reporting through the analysis of relations with contributing States and their political contexts, and she assists in meetings with embassies and international partners. She plans to pursue a Master’s degree in International Law following her internship. Sama is a member of the Swiss Society of International Law (SSDI) and the International Law Association (ILA).
